I love it when...

It's a little too quiet in the next room where your baby is hanging out by himself, so you get up to check out the mischief that surely is going on, only to discover little pipper is sitting quietly reading books!!

I also love my little pipper in vintage shorts:

I hate it when you're supposed to be looking up a recipe online for dinner only to look at the clock and realize you just spent the last hour looking at blogs and haven't even clicked on AllRecipes yet!!

Boys...

These little brothers together are so cute. And so silly. And I do not understand boys and the things they think are so funny. I'm so glad they have each other. I love to hear them laughing together.

Fabienne Update:
{Sidenote:: I am so glad I have little Ms. Fabs to bring some of her sweetness to this house full of boys!!}
The heart surgery went very well. Fabs is now in a recovery room and will remain there for the next day or two. After that, she'll be moved to her own room. Right now, Marla & Justin are staying at the Ronald McDonald House there at the hospital, so they are nice and close to Fabs. They are keeping Fabs paralyzed and sedated until her numbers stabilize. They want the machines doing all the work at this point. I got to kiss her sweet little face yesterday. It's hard to see her laying there with so many machines hooked up to her. The nurses with her are so sweet & amazing. Marla said they had the best heart surgeon. We are so thankful for this hospital and these doctors and nurses. They are doing amazing work! Pray for a very fast recovery for Fabienne. Pray for continued strength and health for Marla & Justin. Thank you for caring. Thank you for praying!

Baby Girl

I love this little baby girl so much.

{picture stolen from here}

Right now my seven month old niece is having open heart surgery. Please keep Fabienne and her parents in your prayers. It seems so odd to me that I'm going about my daily routine, going to the grocery store, throwing diapers in the washer, doing dishes, and my little Fabs literally has her heart in someone's hands. I've been going to my Father in prayer all day. I rest assured because she is in His hands.

Marla & Justin will do their best to keep everyone updated. For those wanting to do something, I'm working on a list of things that they could use during this time. It will be a 7-10 day recovery period at the hospital.

It is amazing to me to watch the love and support being poured out to my family. Thank you, thank you! Keep on praying!!

Hectic

Things have been a little crazy around here:

-working
-celebrating birthdays
-working
-throwing parties
-working
-passing kidney stones {percocet = my friend}
-working
-being a soccer mom {Linc started soccer - too cute!}
-working

This month is absolute madness for my job - we have two big conferences in a months time which means so much work. My family also has a gazillion birthdays within a two month period and we also get to throw mother's day and father's day in there too - along with the work conferences - nice! {Before I was preggers with Levi I made the declaration that no one in our family could have babies in May or June...a few months later I was eating my words! Oops!}

Here's what our family calendar looks like:

April 23 - Justin
May 4 - Craig
May 5 - Dad
May 8 - Mother's Day
May 11 - Marla
May 13 - work conference
May 19 - Levi
May 26 - Fab's surgery
June 1 - Mom
June 4 - Mike
June 5&6 - work conference
June 10 - Lyx & Andy moving to Cali {waaaa!!}
June 12 - Mom & Dad anniversary
June 13 - Lincoln
June 19 - Father's Day
June 24 - Caitlin
June 25 - Kailey

And breathe....

So pardon my lack of posting. I'm working on Levi's birth story {er, should have had that done yesterday!} and we had a super cute nautical themed party for Levi last Sunday. So hope to have something more exciting up soon...

Ten on Ten :: May

Linking up with Rebekah's Ten on Ten Project again. Why don't you join in on the fun?

1. Making rice krispies treats to take to the volunteers at Northgate's MOPS program. {Yes, that is the first thing I did this morning...} 2. Oh my Oram's. Maple frosted goodness. Thank you mom & dad for bringing us this souvenir from your trip to Lyndsay's. 3. Pink with envy. I want a magnolia tree so badly!! {I drive past this tree pretty much everyday...it's in someone's yard, is it okay that I took pictures of their tree?} 4. Levi wiped out from morning MOPS. 5. Lunch. Leftover reuben panini. Yum. 6. Lincoln's preschool class went on a field trip to a local greenhouse and he brought me back these! 7. Levi in his Levi's. 8. Work...busiest time of the whole year. My little brain is going crazy. 9. The best part of my day was going outside and laying around with the boys. I love living in the country! 10. The perfect pick me up, chocolate covered coffee beans!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mama's Day to all you mamas! Isn't it fun to look back through old family albums? This is a picture of my mama & me {I still have the dopey, puffy eyes}! Being a mom makes me love and admire my mom so much more. I can fully appreciate all that she has done and sacrificed for me - and how much she loves me. Thanks Mama-love-best-friend...I love you!

I think of my mama when I read these verses:

She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.
Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:
“There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all!”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
Reward her for all she has done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
Proverbs 31:20, 28-31

This was taken on my first birthday. {I'm throwing Levi a nautical themed party for his first birthday and desperately wish my mom still had that shirt so I could wear it!} Malacai thought my mom was Marla in this picture {and the boys think that every picture of my dad from 20-30 years ago is my brother!}. I think that Lyndsay looks the most like my mom though. When I look at old photos of my mom, I can't get over how young & pretty she is - and think to myself, why don't I look as good as she did at that age?! {And my mom still is so pretty and young looking....I did get that from her, looking a lot younger than I am}

And speaking of pretty ladies, here's a picture of my mother-in-law with my father-in-law and Michael as a baby. I love this mama a lot too - what an amazing job she did raising up this fine-looking man I married!

Also:
-I did get my breakfast in bed with the strawberry stuffed french toast {best hubs ever}!
-And today I also get two boys with diarrhea. Awesome.
-Have you seen this picture of my daughter niece yet? The cuteness just kills me!!! {I may be stealing my niece to claim as my own once she is weaned. Just don't tell my sister.}

Dear Brother

First is the worst
{eh, sorry Mar, it's just the way the rhyme goes...}

Second is the best
{it's the rhyme...I'm just sayin'...}

Third is the dude with the hairy chest
{for schizzle...}

28 years ago you took my position as "baby". But two short years later, the title was snatched from you. So there. Now you know how it feels.

Happy Craigers Day!! I love you little brother!
{And he still has those gorgeous big eyes...}

And a little shout out from your nephs:

{can you vote for me please? yes, even you birthday boy! two clicks}
